What is AASHTOWare Bridge Management?
AASHTOWare Bridge Management Software (BrM) is a comprehensive bridge management software developed as a tool to assist in the challenging task of bridge management. BrM stores bridge inventory and inspection data, formulates network-wide preservation and improvement policies for use in evaluating the needs of each bridge in a network, and makes recommendations for what projects to include in an agency’s capital plan for deriving the maximum benefit from limited funds.
BrM supports the entire bridge management cycle, allowing user input at every stage of the process. The system stores bridge inventories and records inspection data. Once inspection data has been entered, BrM can be used for maintenance tracking and federal reporting. BrM integrates the objectives of public safety and risk reduction, user convenience, and preservation of investment to produce budgetary, maintenance, and program policies. Additionally, it provides a systematic procedure for the allocation of resources to the preservation and improvement of the bridges in a network. BrM accomplishes this by considering both the costs and benefits of maintenance policies versus investments in improvements or replacements.
About the Software
BrM is a web application that supports bridge inventory and inspection data over the web, on an agency’s intranet, or hosted by the product contractor.
Each license of BrM includes a copy of the latest version of the BrM application, access to the BrM Support Center, and support for a single designated agency contact for one year.
BrM supports both the Oracle® and Microsoft® SQL Server databases. Licensees should confirm support for specific versions or releases for these vendors with the Contractor. See Hardware and Software Requirements for details on the supported database versions.
The current version of BrM is designed to run in the following mode:
- Enterprise (Server) - runs on a centralized web server and is accessible through a web browser. BrM is installed in only one place, the agency (or hosted) web server, and the database is accessible from this web server. Users tap into the application via supported web browsers.
Current Version
This version of the BrM Installation Guide covers BrM version 7.1. Contact support@mayvue.com if you are unsure if this is the latest release of BrM.
