Enterprise Deployment Prerequisites

Before installing BrM, please make sure your system meets the Enterprise prerequisites. The following prerequisites must be met in order to successfully install and configure BrM in Enterprise mode:

  1. The hardware (web server) must meet the hardware, software, and network requirements for an Enterprise installation.
  2. Your agency must have a database product. First time BrM users will need to request a new database on the agency's database server or create a new database on a departmental server. For an Enterprise installation, only full versions of SQL Server or Oracle are recommended.
NOTE:

There is no need for any actual database software to be installed on the web server other than the network client connection support software. All database software should be configured to verify connectivity before attempting to install BrM on the web server.

  1. If your agency has an existing BrM database, back up your database and then migrate to the latest BrM database version. More information about this step is available in the BrM Database Migration Guide document. Note that, in order to complete a data migration to BrM 7.x, you must be using a BrM 6.7.1 database.
  2. Your agency must request space on an available web server to install BrM as a thin client web application. The web server should have the ability to take on several simultaneous users.
  3. Make sure the following prerequisites are installed before continuing with the BrM 7.1 installation. The Oracle and SQL Server prerequisites are dependent on the database the agency is using.

Changing your password will log you out immediately. Use the new password to log back in.
